Meditation July 25 - August 1

Prosperity(taken from July 17th Daily Word devotional magazine)
I have all the time, energy and money needed to do what is mine to do.

True prosperity is not found in the outer world, nor is it determined by the amount of money we possess. True prosperity comes from the wisdom that God is blessing us at all times and in all ways.

Prosperity is not something I have to seek; it is already here, waiting to be discovered. I find prosperity by having faith that God provides for me in every needed way.

Prosperity must be cultivated on the inside. As I begin to understand the power of God within me, it is as if I have inherited millions. I am rich in all ways and enjoy lasting abundance in all areas of my life--my health, wealth and relationships. Mere possessions can never replace the joy I feel when I am filled with the presence of God.

Those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.  Psalm 84: 11

Meditation July 18 - July 25

A Season of Increase (by Pastor Joel Osteen)

Every day, you are reminded of how tough life can be. It's true that life can be really hard but don't ever give up on your tomorrows!

Keep believing, keep looking ahead, keep pressing into more and more of what God has for your life.

Believe your best days are ahead.  God's plan is bigger than just what He wants to do for you — it grows into what God wants to do through you.

The power of God's increase is so great that there are no challenges too big and no circumstances too difficult to be radically transformed.

When you keep on believing in the midst of your storm, not only will God lead you out, but He will lead you into His supernatural increase!

What you see as a major setback is really a divine setup.

God's working through the circumstances in your life to create an incredible moment of progress and promotion. He has pre-ordained seasons of increase in your life — not because of anything you do, but because He wants to pour out His goodness in your life.

God's plan for your life is bigger than simply solving today's problem — He wants to promote you. Through His Word and the power of His Holy Spirit, you will be amazed at what God will do in your life.

There's a path to this season of increase. A new season of increase like never before will spring forth in your life.  Be encouraged and always remember that God is for you and loves to give to His children.

Champion of Hope

Meditation July 11 - 18

From Daily Word (July 2nd) devotional magazine:

Expect Good
I step confidently into each new experience, expecting only good.

Every day offers a variety of encounters and experiences. Often I find my experience mirrors my expectations. If I begin with fear or dread, I often have an unpleasant experience. If I am looking forward to what's next, anticipating a new adventure, I often have a rewarding experience.

Since I get to choose my thoughts, I choose to expect good. And why wouldn't I expect good? The indwelling Spirit is my constant companion. Even in the face of difficult circumstances, Spirit does not fail. I receive wisdom and guidance through divine ideas. I receive strength and energy through the power of Spirit within me. I am fully supported. In faith, I expect only good in my life.

For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, "Do not fear, I will help you."--Isaiah 41:13

Meditation July 4 - July 11

When God Gives You a Vision (2)

When God gives you a vision: (1) It will interrupt you. Sometimes God will speak in a voice you can’t tune out. Other times, like Jonah, God will let you go to the bottom to get your attention. Either way, things won’t go right until you say yes to Him. (2) It will illuminate you. You may not like what God says. Ananias didn’t like going to pray for Saul of Tarsus, a man with the power to put Christians to death. But God said, “Go, for he is a chosen vessel…I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name’s sake” (Ac 9:15-16 NKJV). Notice the word “suffer.” The Devil isn’t going to send you a congratulatory telegram because you have decided to do God’s will, so be prepared for attack. (3) It will inspire you. You will accomplish things you never dreamed possible. Look at Gideon. When God found him he was hiding in a winepress (See Jdg 6:11 NKJV); not exactly a promising start. When the angel called him “a mighty man of valor” (v. 12 NKJV), he replied, “I am the least in my father’s house” (v. 15 NKJV). When the angel said, “The Lord is with you,” he replied, “If the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us?” (vv. 12-13 NKJV). When he finally took the job, he wondered, “How can so few of us defeat so many of them?” Yet at that very moment his enemies were having nightmares about him (See Jdg 7:13-15). The secret of victory lies in knowing: “It is God working in me” (See Php 2:13).

Meditation 6/27 - 7/4

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ…"
(2 Corinthians 2:14, NKJV)

TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

There are times in life when we all face situations that seem impossible. It's easy to get discouraged and think that things won't ever work out. But the Scripture tells us that God goes before us and makes our crooked places straight. In other words, even though you may not have the connections you need right now, you don't have to worry. God is going before you lining up the right people, arranging the right breaks, and setting up the right opportunities. He is preparing the way for victory!

Today, if you are facing difficulty, don't fall into the temptation to get negative and sour. That adversity is no a surprise to God. He's not up in the heavens scratching His head and thinking, "Oh, no. Now what am I going to do?" No, He already has every day of your life written in His book. Before you had that problem, God already had the solution. He is going before you right now preparing the next chapter of your life. Stay in faith and keep the right attitude because He is moving you forward into the victory He has prepared for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father God, thank You for ordering and directing my steps. Thank You for working behind the scenes on my behalf. I choose today to trust in You, knowing that You are good, and You always lead me into victory. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Meditation 6/20 - 6/27

WEEKLY DEVOTIONAL

Isaiah 41:10- "Fear not, for I AM WITH YOU, be not dismayed, I AM YOUR GOD. I WILL strengthen you, I WILL help you, I WILL uphold you with my righteous right hand.."

Where you are headed, God is taking you. Although the path may seem unfamiliar and strange, God is taking you exactly where HE wants you to be. Relax and follow His lead. Stop asking so many questions, and stop trying to figure it all out at once. Take each step one step at a time, in faith, trusting that HE is not going to steer you wrong!

Think about this: If you could change decisions you've made in the past, you probably would, but HE wouldn't..HE has used every situation you've been in to make you better, and to bring you to where you are at this very point in your life.

You probably would throw some things away, but HE wouldn't. HE uses those very things to sharpen you, and to refine you, and with Him, everything has value.

So if HE wouldn't change it, or throw it away, relax and trust the process! He knows exactly where you are, and HE knows when things are going to work out, just as HE made them work out before!

Don't depend on anything or anyone else to give answers or understanding to what only HE can!  HE knows..

Above all else, HE has promised that:

HE is with you!
He is your God!
He will strengthen you!
He will help you!
He will uphold you!

So relax, you're in good hands... and trust the process!

Meditation 6/6 - 6/13

The Prayer that Leads to Praise
Bishop Keith Butler

Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. Philippians 4:6 (KJV)

http://app.bronto.com/public/?q=ulink&fn=Link&ssid=10664&id=hc1bsnzwl2zp8ytxjdjusuzrav0ky&id2=06u738oc1km0brbtotukwvmsoro9o&subscriber_id=abksafwnnpssdyjkvlrwtspqpqdobch&delivery_id=athsfsmjmddqoqpfgyggsyunmnyabeiNow, Philippians 4:6 says don't be worried or anxious about anything. Be anxious for nothing, but in every-thing, everything. That means in your financial things, in your physical things, in your relational things, in everything in life. In everything there are three things that you must do: pray, supplicate, and offer thanksgiving to God for delivering you out of the situation.

Now, in Acts, the 16th chapter, it says when Paul and Silas were taken captive, beaten in the city square, stripped, placed in a cold, dark, dingy dungeon at midnight, they prayed. Now, of course, I believe that midnight was a literal midnight, but that midnight also represents whatever dark time is in your life. And if you live long enough, you're going to see a midnight. But I want you to know you can shine some light in the middle of the darkness.

Well this was their opportunity to miss the rest of God. Instead they began to pray. Instead of thinking about what was about to happen, they prayed for God's deliverance. And they sang songs of praise to God, praising Him for their deliverance. They refused to take the thoughts of what their body was telling them and what the situation was telling them. They decided to take God's thoughts by praying. They prayed such a prayer that it started making them rejoice, so much so that there was an earthquake and their shackles fell off and the prison doors swung open.

Now, I know what kind of prayer that had to be. That had to be, Father, I thank you, you are the one who made the world. Everything is in your hands. You are the God who is more than enough, you are my creator, you are the way maker, you are the one that opens the door for me, and you are the one who gives me victory. You are the one who gives me strength. I mean, that's the kind of prayer that they prayed. They're praying that prayer until they came to the place where their prayer made them praise God, and their praise led them to deliverance!

And that's the kind of prayer you must pray when you are in your midnight-your dark situation. Pray a prayer that leads to praise and God will bring you out just like He delivered Paul and Silas.

Meditation for 5/30 - 6/6

Think About This!!!

Ever wonder what would happens if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone?

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?

What if we flipped through it several times a day?

What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?

What if we used it to receive messages from the text?

What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?

What if we gave it to children as gifts?

What if we used it when we traveled?

What if we used it in case of emergency?

This is something to make you go....hmm...where is my Bible?

Oh, and one more thing.

Unlike our cell phone, we don't have to worry about our Bible being disconnected, because Jesus already paid the bill. And by the way, no dropped calls!

Stop and think 'where are my priorities?'
When Jesus died on the cross, he was thinking of you!  Think about it!You were first on His list. So, where are your priorities?

Attitude Check

By Jim Burns

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

James 1:2-4

A confederate soldier in the midst of some very trying circumstances wrote the words below. I don't know who he was or where he learned this incredible principle of life, but I offer it to you today as one of the secrets of a fulfilled life. Personally, I read this poem often and I call it my attitude check.

I asked God for strength that I might achieve. I was made weak that I might learn humbly to obey.

I asked God for health that I might do greater things. I was given infirmity that I might do better things.

I asked for riches that I might be happy. I was given poverty that I might be wise.

I asked for power that I might have the praise of men. I was given weakness that I might feel the need of God.

I asked for all things that I might enjoy life. I was given life that I might enjoy all things.

I got nothing I asked for but everything I had hoped for....

Almost despite myself my unspoken prayers were answered. I am among all men most richly blessed.

Meditation 5/16-5/23

Sunday, May 16, 2010  (Taken from The Daily Word Magazine)
Sabbath
I open my mind to God's rest and peace.

I trust in the presence and power of God to provide whatever I need today. God is creative energy and spiritual substance working in and through me. In prayer, I ask, give thanks and know that it is given. Even though I cannot yet see the results, I cease asking and wait.

I enter into a time of Sabbath as I rest from doubt and fear. Releasing any struggle or mental strain about how my good will come, I trust that God in me is doing the work. I let go, and I let God.

I anticipate the fulfillment of my needs with eagerness and joy. My highest good is now on its way. I expect great things and give great thanks. In my time of Sabbath, my mind and heart are open to God's peace.

The Father who dwells in me does his works.--John 14:10

Meditation 5/9 - 5/16

Grace
God loves me right where I am.

As a child I may have learned that I must earn all good things in life. In school, awards are handed out for special achievement; at work, promotions are given to high achievers. I may also have believed that God, too, rewards only those who make an extra effort.

Grace teaches me that I am loved right where I am, regardless of what I have or have not done. I do not have to earn God's love. I do not have to achieve a certain status or reach a certain milestone to be loved. Right where I am, God loves me. In gratitude, I become more aware of the gifts of life and love that are mine every day. I relax as I awaken to the wonder of being God's beloved, right here and now.

You make him glad with the joy of your presence.--Psalm 21:6

Meditation 05/02 - 05/09

Taken from one of Stormie Omartian's book about praying.

Lord, I pray that You would give me Your wisdom and understanding in all things.  I know wisdom is better that gold and understanding better than silver (Proverbs 16:16), so make me rich in wisdom and wealthy in understanding.  Thank You that You give "wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding" (Daniel 2:21).  Increase my wisdom and knowledge so I can see Your truth in every situation.  Give me discernment for each decision I must make.  Please help me to always seek godly counsel and not look to the world and ungodly people for answers. Thank You, Lord, that You will give me the counsel and instruction I need, even as I sleep.  Lord, You said in Your Word that You store up sound wisdom for the upright (Proverbs 2:7).  Help me to walk uprightly, righteously and obediently to Your commands.  May I never be wise in my own eyes, but may I always fear You.  Keep me far from evil so that I can claim the health and strength Your Word promises (Proverbs 3: 7-8).  Give me the wisdom, knowledge, understanding, direction and discernment I need to keep me away from the plans of evil so that I will walk safely and not stumble (Proverbs 2: 10-13).  Lord, I know that in You "are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" (Colossians 2:3).  Help me to discover those treasures.  Amen!

Meditation for week of 4/11 - 4/18

Let's try this proclamation, believing "victory over all things". Taken from John Hagee's ministries:

"Lord Jesus Christ, I make this proclamation in faith believing.  We overcome Satan when we testify personally to what the Word of God says the Blood of Jesus does for us.  Through the Blood of Jesus, I am redeemed out of the hands of the devil.  Through the Blood of Jesus, all of my sins are forgiven.  Through the Blood of Jesus, I am continually being cleansed from all sins.  Through the Blood of Jesus, I am justified; I am made righteous, just as if I never sinned.  Through the Blood of Jesus, I am sanctified, made holy, set apart to God.  Through the Blood of Jesus, I have boldness to enter into the presence of God.  Through the Blood of Jesus, God is in heaven on my behalf.  Satan has no place in me, no power over me, no chains against me.  It has all been settle at the Cross.  Through the Blood of Jesus, I am free.  Hallelujah! Bless the Lord!"

Meditation for 4/4 - 4/11

Healing Proclamation taken from John Hagee Ministeries:

Lord Jesus Christ, I make this proclamation in faith believing.  You are my Lord and Saviour.  You are my Great Physician.  You are my Healer.  By Your stripes, I am now being healed.  By Your Precious Blood, I have victory over  sickness and disease.  Father God, you have set before me life and death.  I choose life.  You have set before me blessings and cursing. I choose blessings.  I will not fear; for You are with me.  Your Word is my strength, my fortress, my high tower.  My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.  I will praise You.  I will declare Your greatness and bless Your Name forever.  For I will wait upon the Lord and renew my strength. I shall mount on wings like eagles. I shall run and not be weary.  I shall walk and not faint.  I shall not die, but I shall live and declare the works of the Lord. Hallelujah!  The victory is mine!  Bless Your Name! Bless Your Glorious Name!  Amen!

Say this proclamation for yourself or stand in the gap for someone else's healing.  Believe that God is able and praise His Holy Name for His awesome healing power.  Praise Him!

I would like for you to pray for all the soldiers in the military and in particular for the soldiers serving in Afghanistan or Iraq.  Please say a special prayer for Kenrick Ramirez and for his family during this difficult time.

Kenrick Ramirez was in an accident in Afghanistan on our around  March 2 or 3 I can't recall right this minute.  He was serving there and the vehicle he was driving was hit by a roadside bomb.  All of the other seven passengers died Kenrick survived, but suffered a fractured skull and had to be amputated. He was transported to Germany and from Germany to the U.S. He is currently at Walter Reed Hospitaland making progress.

To put him in perspective as a relative, he is Tia Pola (Apolinaria Petillo) great grandson. His grandmother was Concha.  He is also the nephew of Anthony Noralez (your buddy from police days), and his mom is Diana Ramirez. She and another son are at the hospital now.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.  All I am asking now is if
you know of any one out there who would be able to offer some moral support.

Meditation for March 22 - March 29

Be Generous

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed"
(Proverbs 11:25, NIV)

TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

Do you need refreshing today? So many people go around overwhelmed, tired, worn down, barely getting by. But that's not God's best. He wants us to prosper. He wants us to be refreshed. Here's the key: be generous and refresh others. Is there someone at the office you can be a blessing to? Can you lighten someone's load? Maybe a family member is going through a hard time. Can you help them out? Can you cook them a meal? Refreshing someone can be as simple as a smile or an encouraging word. Don't wait until you feel like doing it, that day may never come! Do it because the Scripture tells us to. Do it because it blesses the Lord.

Today, look for someone to be a blessing to. As you step out and refresh others, as you live a life of generosity, you will be refreshed and experience His blessing in your own life in return.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your grace and mercy in my life. Thank You for blessing me so that I can be a blessing to others. Teach me to be generous. Show me how I can refresh others and bring glory to You. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Meditation for March 14-21

A Living Hope--- Taken from Dr. Charles Stanley's "In Touch" Magazine

READ | 1 Peter 1:3-9

Hope is both a strong belief and the anticipation that something good is going to happen. When our goals are not achieved, we may experience discouragement, which over time can turn into depression and even despair—the absence of hope.

How can we remain optimistic in the face of unmet expectations? First, we’re to remember the reason for our confidence: our relationship with Jesus. At salvation, we were born into a living hope (v. 3)—God made us a “new creation,” and we are no longer in bondage to the old sin nature (2 Cor. 5:17 NIV). His Spirit lives within us. We have been made co-heirs with Christ, and our true home is in heaven with Him. Nothing can alter our familial connection with the Lord.

Second, to maintain a positive outlook, we must spend daily time in the Scriptures. Romans 15:4 says that the Bible was written to give us encouragement and hope. The Psalms can be especially helpful in difficult times because they express the feelings we have and also tell us about the comfort available from God.

Third, we rely on the Lord’s faithfulness. Trusting in Him will never disappoint us because all of His promises are yes in Christ (2 Cor. 1:20).

Believers should not react to trials as the world does. We’re to live by faith—“being sure of what we hope for ” (Heb. 11:1 NIV). When circumstances overwhelm you, shift your focus to the Lord. Read the Scriptures to find encouragement, and be reminded of what is yours in Christ (Eph. 1:3-8).

Meditation 3/6 - 3/13

Effective Prayer
Pastor Paula White

The effective fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16

In order to have an effective prayer life, it is important to understand the various ways that we can communicate with God using the tool of prayer. It is important to know why we are praying, and what we are praying for. It is important that we have worked our faith to a point where we can trust in God to answer our prayers according to His will for our lives.

The Bible instructs us to cast all our cares to God in prayer, making our requests known to Him with an attitude of thanksgiving (Philippians 4:6). We are to request what we need and then trust Him to meet our needs. As we do that, God acts - imparting to us His peace, and providing all that is beneficial for our eternal good.

God may not answer our prayers when we want... or even how we want. But He will always answer - even if the answer is not apparent to us, and it feels like He has ignored us, or not heard us. God's ways are higher than our ways - and therefore, how He 'answers' our prayers, will also operate on a heavenly and supernatural level that reveals and carries out His best intentions and plans for our lives.

It is good to know that we can pray effectively when we are in covenant with God and aligning ourselves with His divine will - praying as a "righteous man," as James instructs in 5:16. There are also different prayers to use in different situations. Knowing why we are praying, what we are praying for, and understanding how God answers prayers is vital if we want to pray effectively. Different prayers we can approach God with include:

Prayer of Faith. The Prayer of Faith should always be based on God's revealed will and His Word. It requires boldly declaring the Word of God over one's situation. Instead of 'God, please heal me, " one should pray, "Lord, your Word declares that by Your stripes, I AM HEALED!" This way you are declaring what you already know to be true based on God's Word.

Prayer of Commitment. 1 Peter 5:7 tells us we should pray "casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." This kind of prayer declares your decision to give all of your concerns, fears, anxieties and problems to God. It is a conscious refusal to worry or have anxiety. This type of prayer has two parts: stating all of your requests to God, and committing to all Him to handle each request without interference from you.

Prayer of Agreement. This is the most powerful type of prayer. Matthew 18: 19 -20 tells us, "that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them." This is a profound and powerful promise given to us by Jesus Christ! It means that whenever two people will believe together, and with the utmost faith believe on the Word of God, whatever they seek will be granted.

Intercessory Prayer. This involves praying for other people, nations, cities, and against the powers of darkness. The best example of and intercessor is Jesus himself; Romans 8:34 says that Jesus sits at the right hand of God and makes intercession for us. He asks the Lord to forgive us, and it is through Jesus' prayer that our slates are wiped clean when we repent and seek forgiveness. We have the ability to 'stand in the gap' of others in the same way, petitioning God on their behalf to answer our prayers -- by meeting their needs, saving their souls, or simply by showing mercy.

And remember: take every opportunity to appreciate the smallest answered prayer, and to meditate on God's faithfulness. You don't have to wait until you 'see' that your prayer has been answered -- give Him a prayer of thankfulness and praise right now for answering your prayers in His time, in His wisdom, and according to His will.

Because God is Good!

Meditation 2/28 - 3/6

GREAT IS HIS FAITHFULNESS

Lamentations 3:21-26 (New Century Version)

 21 But I have hope
       when I think of this:

 22 The Lord's love never ends;
       his mercies never stop.
 23 They are new every morning;
       Lord, your loyalty is great.
24 I say to myself, "The Lord is mine,
       so I hope in him."

25 The Lord is good to those who hope in him,
       to those who seek him.
26 It is good to wait quietly
       for the Lord to save.

Meditation 2/21 - 2/28

We as believer and a child of God, must know that we are well protected and the safe arms of God. Let's continue to be reminded as we read the 91st Psalm. Praise God for His protection!

Psalm 91 (New Century Version)

Safe in the Lord

1 Those who go to God Most High for safety
will be protected by the Almighty.
2 I will say to the Lord, "You are my place of safety and protection.
You are my God and I trust you."

3 God will save you from hidden traps
       and from deadly diseases.
4 He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you can hide.
His truth will be your shield and protection.
5 You will not fear any danger by night
or an arrow during the day.
6 You will not be afraid of diseases that come in the dark
or sickness that strikes at noon.
7 At your side one thousand people may die,
or even ten thousand right beside you,
but you will not be hurt.
 8 You will only watch
       and see the wicked punished.

 9 The Lord is your protection;
you have made God Most High your place of safety.
 10 Nothing bad will happen to you;
no disaster will come to your home.
11 He has put his angels in charge of you
to watch over you wherever you go.
12 They will catch you in their hands
so that you will not hit your foot on a rock.
 13 You will walk on lions and cobras;
you will step on strong lions and snakes.

14 The Lord says, "Whoever loves me, I will save.
I will protect those who know me.
15 They will call to me, and I will answer them.
       I will be with them in trouble;
I will rescue them and honor them.
16 I will give them a long, full life,
and they will see how I can save."

Meditation for 2/14 - 2/21

Taken from HomeWord devotional for February 13, 2010:

A Love Story

By Jim Liebelt

I trust in God’s unfailing love, for ever and ever.

Psalm 52:8b

Around Valentine’s Day most people think about love. With all of the media hype, even people who are not in love, think about love! Here, however, is a great story (author unknown) about the depths of real love; a love that goes far beyond romance; and a love that is instructive to all!

It was a busy morning, about 8:30 a.m., when an elderly gentleman in his 80's arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He stated that he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 a.m. I took his vital signs and had him take a seat knowing it would be over an hour before someone would be able to see him.

I saw him looking at his watch and decided since I was not busy with another patient that I would evaluate his wound. It had healed well, so I talked to one of the doctors and got the needed supplies to remove his stitches. While taking care of the wound we began a conversation.

I asked him if he had another doctor’s appointment that morning as he was in such a hurry. He told me no, but that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife. I then inquired about her health. He told me that she had been in the nursing home for a while and that she had Alzheimer’s disease. As we talked, I asked him if she would be worried if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was and that she had not recognized him in five years. I was surprised, and asked him why he was still going every morning to visit his wife even though she didn’t know who he is. He smiled and patted my hand and said,

“She doesn’t know me but I still know who she is.”

I tried to hold back tears as he left—I had goose bumps on my arm—and I thought to myself, this is the kind of love I want in my life.

We all want to be loved in that kind of way—a love that remains strong and unchanged even when we don’t recognize it! Thank God that He loves us in that same way! Though we may not recognize it, feel it, appreciate it and even take it for granted, God’s love for us never changes! He is always there for us! And God’s love for us sets the example of how we are to love others: our spouses, children, close friends, casual friends, and strangers alike.

As we celebrate another Valentine’s Day, may you be reminded of God’s love and experience it in a new and fresh way – and pass that same kind of love on to the loved ones in your life!

Meditation

  for 2/7-2/14

Taken from Dr. Jack Graham's Daily Devotional:

And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

                                                                                              -- Acts 2:38

Are there struggles and sins that plague your life? Is there a bondage that you find impossible to escape?

Well, in our own strength, it is impossible for us to overcome those things that bind us! But Jesus has given you and me a way to experience victory in every area of our lives! When we give the Holy Spirit command of our lives, we begin to experience his transformational power.

The Holy Spirit gives you the strength to overcome. You will find strength in the midst of struggles, renewed joy and fellowship in Christ, and a passion for sharing the Gospel. And when you witness for Jesus, you will speak with his spiritual power, authority, and anointing!

Isn’t this the kind of Christian life you want? Well, it can be yours! This is the gift of the Holy Spirit living in you! Ask the Holy Spirit to help you overcome the sins and things that have you in bondage and help you live in victory. That’s when transformation will be within your grasp!

Start winning life’s big battles! Give the Spirit of God command of your life… and be transformed!

Meditation for 1/31 - 2/6

[Taken from January 27, 2010 Daily Word Devotional.]

Inner Peace
In the quiet of this moment, I am at peace. All is well.

Allowing time for the silence of prayer and meditation is vital to my well-being. In the quiet, I am serene. I am still. I am calm. Inner peace permeates my body and clears my mind. I am connected to the Divine.

If at a later time I find myself in a challenging situation, the time I spent in the silence allows me to maintain tranquility. I am able to focus on the peace of God in the midst of the challenge. I focus on faith and love and know that all is well.

My actions of compassion, gratitude and service reflect the serenity I feel within. In choosing inner peace, I bring greater peace to the outer world.

He woke up and rebuked the wind and the raging waves; they ceased, and there was a calm.--Luke 8:24

Meditation for 1/24 - 1/31

KEEP STANDING
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand".
(Ephesians 6:13, NIV)

TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria Osteen

Sometimes, people have problems because they are making poor choices or doing something wrong. But other times, people are having difficulties because they are doing something right.

When you're determined to fulfill your God-given destiny, and you're taking steps to improve your life or make a difference in your family or community, don't be surprised if you face opposition. The enemy is not going to just roll out the red carpet and watch you fulfill your God-given destiny. He'll do whatever he can to keep you from moving forward. The Apostle Paul said this, "A wide door of opportunity is open for me and there are many adversaries." I've found anytime you try to go forward in life, anytime you try to make progress, there will be opposition. But with God on your side, you can stand your ground! Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. If you're facing opposition today, keep standing, keep believing, keep hoping. Keep fighting the good fight of faith until you see the victory He has in store for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

" Heavenly Father, thank You for Your promise of victory. I choose today to take my eyes off my challenges and focus on You. Thank You for equipping me with Your armor so that I can stand strong in You. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

Meditation for 1/17 - 1/24

(Taken from Dr. Charles Stanley's website, In Touch Ministries.)
The Requirements
What does it take for us to obey the Lord? We must believe that God is sovereign—He controls
all things at all times (Ps. 103:19). Even when we don’t understand, you and I must trust that
God will work for our good in every situation (Rom. 8:28).We must love Him. In fact, the Bible
says we show our love for the Father by obeying His commands (1 John 5:3)—and not just when
they are convenient and desirable. We also must listen to Him.When you pray, don’t do all the
talking. Make time to hear what He has to say. Obeying God takes courage. Following His will
often leads to conflict. You must be willing to do what is right anyway. Fully surrender to Him.
Otherwise, you can’t expect the Lord to turn every circumstance in your life to good.
The Results of Obedience
Following God leads to great reward. The Lord told Joshua that he would prosper if he meditated
on the Word of God and obeyed Him completely (Josh. 1:8). You may not be considered a success
in the eyes of the world, but you will experience personal victory if you follow His will. Obeying
the Father brings peace and joy. No matter what happens around you, God can bring serenity and
happiness. Suffering is another thing you and I can expect when we follow the Lord’s will for our
lives. God uses our suffering to change the world. And in the midst of conflict and difficulty, we
develop spiritually—growing more like Christ. There have been many times when God told
me to do something that didn’t make sense from a human perspective. The Father may lead you to
give up a hobby or donate a valuable item. He may prompt you to give financially when you
feel you can’t afford it. God might want you to serve in your church or take a leadership role
although you feel inadequate. Your faithfulness can inspire others to surrender to Him as well.
And in every situation and circumstance of life, you can be sure God will supply all your needs
and glorify Himself through your obedience.

Conclusion:
When you need to make an important decision, don’t rely primarily on your own reasoning,
the opinions of others, or even what worked in the past. Get on your knees before the Lord
and pour out your heart to Him. Spend time prayerfully reading His Word. Take time to listen
for His voice, and then follow His specific guidance for your life. Obey God and leave all the consequences
to Him. If you will take this one principle to heart, you will have the awesome privilege of
watching the Lord accomplish great things in and through you.

Meditation for 1/10 -1/17

Hi, Angie! Spirituality/inspirational for the week of 01/10 - 01/17:

Happy New Year's, Everyone! A new year, a new you should be one of your goals for 2010. Read the affirmation below as often as possible to renew a new you. Remember to always be in the presence of the Lord and to keep your mind on Him. He will direct your goings and will give you perfect peace. May 2010 allow the Lord to overtake you with blessings upon blessings. Remember to have faith, be humble and always be obedient to our Lord Saviour Jesus Christ. No doubt, blessings will overtake you.

(Affirmation taken from the Daily Word devotional magazine on January 1, 2010)

This new year marks a fresh start for me.

I begin this new year realizing that nothing can separate me from God’s presence in this moment or at any other time. The presence of God is within me always. Working with this Holy presence, I cocreate my life in fresh, new ways.

In contemplative prayer, I honor my past and its lessons and I release negative feelings and attitudes based on the past. I take action this day, this year, to change habits or practices that do not serve me, knowing that God’s spirit expressing through me is greater than any habit.

I trust God within to guide me in cocreation, to inspire me with new ways of thinking, acting, and speaking. This awareness ensures that, in every needed way, the new year marks a fresh start for me.

Meditation 12/27 - 1/3

God, thank you for sending your Son to us. I know this time of year we often forget why we celebrate. We tend to be so caught up in planing for parties and gift giving that we forget why we are doing all of these things in the first place. Let me not forget the struggles and strife that Mary and Joseph faced in bringing your son, Jesus, into the world.

Yet, Lord, let me not forget the blessings you bestowed on them. You gave them a great gift of a child and you blessed them with shelter in a time when it seemed they might not have anywhere to stay. And then you brought our Savior into this world to two loving parents and believers who awaited his presence.

I cannot imagine your sacrifice, Lord, but I know that I am blessed by it. I know that every day I feel your presence and look around the world in wonder at your creation. So, this year as I decorate the tree, this year as I singChristmas carols, let me not forget that Christmas is so much more than gifts and lights. Provide me with the presence of mind to keep me rooted in faith this season.

And let the world find the blessings I have found in you. As cliche as it may sound, let there be peace on earth this season. Let us have the hope and love in our lives that you brought us through the birth of Jesus.

Thank you, Lord. Thank you for bringing my Savior into the world, and thank you for your blessings on my life. Amen.

Meditation for 12/20-12/27

Today is the fourth Sunday of Advent. Advent means "coming" and/or "arrival". It is marked by a spirit of expectation, of anticipation, of preparation, of longing. During the Christmas season, advent is the anticipation, expectation, preparation and the longing of our Dear Savior's birth. The first Sunday of Advent was "hope"; the second Sunday was "peace"; the third Sunday was "love"; and today, the fourth Sunday is "joy". Below is a devotional taken from today's Daily Word magazine. It talks about "joy". How appropriate for today. Happy Jesus' Birthday and Emmanuel (God with us).

Joy

Joy is my divine birthright, my natural state.

Joy is my natural state of being. When I am expressing joy, I feel intimately connected to God. At times when I fully experience a joyful manifestation of Spirit, I may feel a wellspring of emotion. It is a great gift to witness a sunset, hold the hand of a frail loved one, behold the innocent face of a newborn child and then to express my heartfelt gratitude for that moment, that person, that inspiration.

When I experience joy, I fully understand my reason for being. All else falls away, all worries, all doubts. I am one with the Creator. I am fully present, fully engaged in life. I am called to find joy, to be joy, to wake up to joy in every moment.

You show me the path of life.In your presence there is fullness of joy.--Psalm 16:11

Affirmation Week of 12/13-12/20

Praise God as we prepare for His Son's birthday. This is the third week of advent and it's theme is "love". Let's keep the following scriptures in mind daily as we rejoice for the "love" that God has for us. Praise His Holy Name! Praise Him for His Wonderful and Precious Gift...His Son, Jesus Christ!

Romans 5:8  "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

John 3:16   "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

1 John 4:7-8  "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.  He who does not love does not know God, for God is love."

1 John 4:16, 19   "And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love and He who abides in love abides in God and God in him. We love Him because He first loved us."

John 15:9 (Jesus said) "As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love."

Proverbs 8:17   "I love those who love me and those who seek me diligently will find me."

John 14: 21   "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me.  And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father and I will love him and manifest Myself to him."

1 Corinthians 13:13  "And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of  these is love."

Affirmation the week 12/6-12/13

God's plan for salvation: (scriptures taken from "God's Promises for Your Every Need")

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son , that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  John 3:16

He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.   John 3: 36

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.   John 3: 17

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.   Romans 6:23

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.   Romans 5:8

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.   Romans 3:23

But as many as received Him, to them he gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.   John 1: 12

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.   Ephesians 2: 8,9

Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven.   Matthew 10: 32

And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.   1 John 5: 11,12

Affirmation Week of 11/29-12/5

Our prayer for the week is taken from Stormie Omartian's book. Let's continue to be in prayer at all times; and at the same time, let's praise Him always. Glory to His Name!

Blessings upon blessings!
Carolyn

Lord, You have said in Your Word that even though evil people try to destroy the righteous, You will not allow it (Psalm 37: 32-33). Protect us from any plans of evil. Protect us from legal problems, for justice comes from You (Proverbs 29:26). Be with us when we pass through deep waters and keep the river from overflowing us. Enable us to not be burned or consumed in the fire (Isaiah 43: 2). Be merciful to us and give us safety "in the shadow of Your wings" until such time as all "these calamities have passed by" (Psalm 57:1). Give us the wisdom, discernment and revelation we need in order to stay safe.Lord, we pray when we go through tough times that You will be our defender. We pray that we will learn to look to You to be our help (Psalm 121: 1-2). The enemy's strength is nothing in light of Your great power. We pray that we will learn to cry out to You in our trouble, so You will deliver us out of our distresses (Psalm 107:6). No matter what happens, we pray we will ultimately be able to say, "This was the Lord's doing; it is marvelous in our eyes" (Psalm 118: 23). Help us to understand that we can "lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O Lord," make us to "dwell in safety" (Psalm 4:8). In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen!

Affirmation Week of 11/22-11/29

Pastor Greg Laurie raised some good questions. See if you can answer them.

When is the last time you said...

Lord, thank You that You have allowed me to live in (the country where you live)...
Thank You for my church and allowing me to be a part of it...
Thank You for sending Your Son to die on the cross for my sins...
Thank You that He rose again...
Thank You that my life, which was once filled with guilt, is now filled with Your purpose and peace...
Thank You that no matter what happens, You are coming back again for me...?

(When was the last time you said "Thank You" for the things mentioned above?)There is so much to give thanks for. Have you been thanking God? Let's not wait until the fourth Thursday of November. Because for the Christian, every day should be Thanksgiving. (Praise God!)

Affirmation week 11/15/09 - 11/22/09

Proclamation for healing: (taken from Pastor John Hagee's sermon, "The Miracle in Your Mouth")

[ You may say this proclamation for yourself or whoever is ill. Walk with eyes of faith.]

Lord Jesus Christ, I make this confession in faith believing. You are my Lord and Savior. You are my Great Physician. You are my Healer. By Your stripes, I am now being healed. By Your Precious Blood, I have victory over every sickness and disease. Father God, You have set before me life and death. I choose life. You have set before me blessings and cursings. I choose the blessings.  I will not fear; for You are with me. Your Word is my strength, my fortress, my high tower. My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. I will praise You. I will declare Your greatness and bless Your Name forever. For those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount on wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint. I shall not die, but I shall live and declare the works of the Lord. Hallelujah! The victory is mine! Bless Your Name! Bless Your Glorious Name!

Affirmation week of 11/8-11/14

Let's confess these Words with our mouth everyday this week. Remember there is power in the tongue. There is power in speaking God's Words. Let's speak the Words in faith believing:

I remember the Lord my God, for it is He who gives me the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms His covenant, which He swore to my forefathers. (Deuteronomy 8:18)

The Lord shall command the blessing upon me in my storehouse and in all that I undertake...  The Lord makes me to have a surplus of prosperity through the fruit of my body.  He blesses me in the land which He gives me. (Deuteronomy 28: 8, 11)

Because I seek the Lord, I shall not lack any beneficial thing. (Psalm 34:10)

When I bring all the tithes (the whole tenth of my income) into the storehouse, that there may be food in God's house, the Lord of hosts will open the windows of heaven for me and pour me out such a blessing that there won't be room enough to receive it. (Malachi 3:10)

When I give to the needy, I do not let my left hand know what my right hand is doing, so that my giving may be in secret.  Then my Father, who see what is done in secret, will reward me. (Matthew 6: 3-4)

I give and (gifts) are given to me; good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over. For with the measure I deal out, it will be measured back to me. (Luke 6:38)

My God will meet all my needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
(Philippians 4:19)

God wants me to prosper and be in health, even as my soul prospers. (3 John 2)

Affirmation for week 11/1-11/7

Proclamation/confession from Pastor John Hagee's sermon "The Miracle in Your Mouth". Let's say this proclamation everyday, all week, believing in faith that abundance, more than enough is ours and soon we will have no more empty hands. Praise God for loading us with His benefits. (Psalm 68: 19a) Now start saying this proclamation, declaring that if we worship and bless the Lord, He will give us the desire of our heart. Yes! Praise His Name.

Proclamation:(for financial breakthrough)

Lord Jesus Christ, I make this proclamation in faith believing.  It is the Lord that gives me power to get wealth.  It is the Lord that will plant me by rivers of living water.  My leaves shall not wither and whatsoever I shall do, I shall prosper.  He will make me the head and not the tail.  He will give me houses that I did not built, vineyards I did not plant, wells I did not dig; because I have honored he Lord with my giving and living.  The harvest will return to me exceedingly, abundantly, above all I can ask or imagine.  The harvest will be pressed down, shaken together and running over.  I will be blessed in my going out and my coming in.  I will be blessed in my basket and stores.  God will force Satan to give back to me seven times what He has stolen.  My harvest is coming.  It's an abundance harvest from the Giver of God. The Giver of every good and perfect gift.  Hallelujah! This is a new beginning.  Hallelujah! Bless God's glorious Name! Praise God

Affirmation for the week of Oct 25-Nov 1

Affirmation for the week of October 25th- November 1st taken from October 13th Daily Word book:

Desire of the Heart

My heart's desire is to know God. On occasion, I may have a desire to purchase something luxurious or indulge in a sweet treat. But I know my life is about more than seeking instant gratification. What I want most of all is to experience God more completely. I don't concern myself with the occasional craving because understanding the desire of my heart is most important. In my relationships, I desire to find a genuine and meaningful connection with others. For my body and mind, I value strength, energy and good health. God within me knows the true desire of my heart and what is needed for my soul's fulfillment.

"Before they call I will answer, while they are yet speaking I will hear."--Isaiah 65:24

Affirmation for the week of October 18-25

This week's affirmation is about God's blessings taken for October 17th Daily Word. Although, we may not have, at the moment, what we want or desire, God always provide what we need. Let's thank Him for the many blessings that He loads us with daily. Thank Him for His divine timing and giving. Let's daily affirm the affirmation below:

I give thanks for the gifts of God. Gratitude has the power to lift my thoughts and renew my faith in God as my unlimited source of good. When the disciples were concerned there was not enough to feed the hungry, Jesus took what they had and blessed it. Giving thanks for God's gifts, he multiplied them and had more than enough to feed the crowds. I consider each breath a gift. So, too, are the beauty of the sky and the faces of those I love. I give thanks for all that sustains my physical being, including clean water, shelter and food. I am thankful for opportunities to give and receive love, connect with God and share what I have been given with others.

"And my God shall supply  all (my) needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:19

10 Year Old Minister Delivering the Word

Meditation for the week 10/5-10/12

Living As A New Creation
Pastor Andre Butler

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature" 2 Corinthians 5:17a

The Bible says that when you accepted Jesus as the Lord of your life, your spirit was recreated. You went from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. The spirit that is living inside your body looks just like God's, and wants you to act just like God. Have you noticed that there is a part of you that always wants to do the right thing? Why is that? Because, your spirit is holy and always wants you to do things God's way. Your flesh, however, may still want to drink, smoke, sleep around, tell people off, party, or curse from time to time. Your flesh is working to bring you into the captivity of sin again.

There is a war going on inside of you right now. Your spirit and your flesh are in a boxing ring every day. Have you ever said, "I'll never tell off someone like that again," only to find yourself saying the same things one week later? Have you ever said, "I'll never go to that porn website again," only to find yourself at the same website a month later? For some reason, you just keep doing the same things. You are fighting a war, and your flesh is winning. This describes the plight of many Christians, particularly those who are still carnal. The word carnal means "flesh ruled." Carnal Christians plan to do the right thing and try to grow spiritually, yet keep making the same mistakes.

God did not put you in a place where you're winning in one moment and losing in the next. He wants you to live in constant spiritual victory. Where you are today is not where you are supposed to end up. But you cannot get to where God wants you to be until you deal with the issues of your flesh.

God asks you to be holy, and live for Him. Christian believers should not be like non-believers. We should not talk like they talk or react like they react. Our lifestyle should be separate and different from that of the world. This is more easily said than done. You are surrounded by the world. You live in the world. What is a Christian to do? How do you get to a place where you are holy, obedient, and blessed? By renewing your mind using the Word of God.

What you have is a battle between your spirit and your flesh to gain control of your mind. If your flesh can get you to start thinking in line with your fleshly desires, then your flesh wins. But if you renew your mind and start thinking in line with God's Word, your spirit wins. You need to decide to daily renew your mind with the Word of God, because it is only when you do that you will change, and your spirit will have ultimate victory.

Meditation for Sept 28 - Oct 5

Praise and Worship

By Jim Burns

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ in accordance with his pleasure and will—to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment—to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ. In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession—to the praise of his glory.

Ephesians 1:3-14

When we praise the Lord, we unleash the Spirit of God to do awesome acts of power. Here are a few reasons why my heart is filled with praise and worship to the King of Kings today. How about you?

Praise God for the beauty of his creation (Psalm 19).
Praise God for the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8).
Praise God for the blood of Christ for our redemption (Revelation 5:9).
Praise God for healing the broken-hearted (Psalm 147:3).
Praise God for his birth: Emmanuel (Luke 2).
Praise God for his life on earth (John 13:15-17).
Praise God for the cross and sacrificial love (Romans 5:8).
Praise God for his mighty acts of power (Deuteronomy 3:24).
Praise God for his surpassing greatness (Psalm 150:2).
Praise God for his Word (1 Peter 1:24-25).

Even in the reading of these words, we are reminded that the language of praise fills us with joy and gratitude, and brings the power of God's Holy Spirit into our life.

Meditation Prayer for week of 9/16- 9/23

Lord, give me a vision for my life. I put my identity in You and my destiny in Your hands.  Show me if what I am doing now is what I am supposed to be doing. I want what You are building in my life to last for eternity. I know that "all things work together for good" to those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). I pray that You would show me clearly what the gifts and talents are that You have placed in me.  Lead me in the way I should go as I grow in them. Enable me to use them according to Your will and for Your glory. I know that You have plans for me. Plans for welfare and not for calamity. To give me a future and hope. (Jeremiah 29:11) Thank You for directing my life. Thank You for divine wisdom and discernment, whereas, I will always make the right decisions and right choices. Let Your will always be done. Continue to lift my spirit, encourage my heart, build my faith and brighten my day, in the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen!

Meditation Prayer for the week 9/9-9/16

Lord, in the Name of Jesus, we come offering our children to you. We thank You for the gift and reward you have given us, our children. May they fear You and keep all Your statues and commandments. May they love You with all their mind and heart and with their entire being and with all their might. May they be the head and not the tail. May they be above only and  they shall never be beneath. May they be watchful to take heed of Your commandments and be watchful to do them.  May they choose life and blessing. May they love You and obey Your voice and cling to You. May they make wise and right choices according to Your Word. May they always be in Your hands, as the clay is in the potter's hand. May we as parents or any adults always be positive encourager to them. May we edify and build them up and never tear them down or destroy their spirits. May we not exasperate them, but instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of You. May our children have Christian friends and may You have set aside a Christian wife or husband for each of them. May they not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. May they habitually walk and live in the Holy Spirit and be guided  by the Spirit. Give them a teachable spirit and may they love to pray and study the Word. Lord, send Your Word and let it not return void. Make things happen that You want to happen; and let Your Word succeed in doing what You want it to do. Lift every young person's spirit, encourage their hearts, build their faith and brighten their day.Take away any depression, frustrations, anger and bitterness within them. Replace those emotions with joy, happiness, generosity, forgiveness and love. Be merciful unto them, bless them and cause Your face to shine upon them. Send blessings upon blessings, in Your Name. Thank You, Lord, for hearing and answering this prayer according to Your will. Amen!

Meditation for the week 9/2-9/9

Angie, is a weekly devotional I receive from Minister Kurt Lytes. Please allow this to be the word for the week. Thanks!
Carolyn

Devotional by Minister Kurt Lytes submitted by Carolyn Henley-Johnson.

COLOSSIANS 3:13- "BE GENTLE AND FORBEARING WITH ONE ANOTHER.. AND, IF ONE HAS A DIFFERENCE AGAINST ANOTHER, READILY PARDONING EACH OTHER; EVEN AS THE LORD HAS FORGIVEN YOU, SO MUST YOU ALSO FORGIVE."

Prov. 17:14- Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam, so drop the matter before a dispute breaks out.

Learning when to speak, and how to speak, can be challenging, but the results can bring forth so much life if applied the biblical way!

God's word has so many answers to our everyday situations, if we would only apply, and (daily) put it into 'practice.'

Everyday, we must 'practice' being gentle, 'practice' being patient, 'practice' being tender-hearted. For some, it may come natural, but for others, it may seem like and endless journey!

However the case, it's possible if we take it 'one step at a time.'  One response at a time. One time listening, before speaking. One kind answer instead of a sarcastic snarl... 'One step at a time..'

I guarantee that you will have plenty of opportunities -this week- to apply these practical, yet precious principles..

Are you up for the challenge? On your marks.... get set..... GROW!

God Bless and God's Best.

Meditations for the 8/26-9/2

Here are seven (7) scriptures that were given to me to help us find or share our faith in Christ:

1.  His love for you is more precious than pure gold. "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3: 16

2.  Selfishness and self-will separate you from God.  "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

3.  Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and the sins of the world.  "Christ died for our sins...He was buried...He was raised on the third day..." 1 Corinthians 15: 3-4

4.  You are forgiven when you confess your sins, repent and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  "Repent and turn to Go so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord."  Acts 3:19

5.  You are cleansed from sin and given the gift of eternal life when you accept Jesus Christ. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

1 John 1:9

6.  Through prayer, reading the Bible and fellowship, you will have spiritual growth. "...grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."  2 Peter 3: 18a

7.  Through His Spirit God will help you live a godly life.  "Those who obey His commands live in Him and He in them.  And this is how we know that He lives in us:  We know it by the Spirit He gave us." 1 John 3:24

"Lord Jesus, I need you.  Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins.  I open my heart to receive You as my Lord and Savior.  Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life.  Show me Your way and make me the person You want me to be. I pray in Your Name, Jesus. Amen! "

Meditation for 8/19-8/26

Guidance

The all-knowing presence of God leads me to my highest good.
I may use maps and navigational aids to find my way as I travel. If I'm in an unfamiliar location and unsure of an address, I might ask directions.
In my journey of life, however, I don't have a road map, and no one has traveled my same path. Before I make a quick judgment or hasty decision, I turn within to the all-knowing presence of God. In prayer, I open my mind and heart to divine guidance. Knowing that guidance may lead me in a direction I had not anticipated, I remain alert to the prompting of Spirit. I trust the unconditional love of God as I follow the divine guidance that leads me to my highest good.

"The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your needs in parched places."--Isaiah 58:11

Sr Avila Celebrates 50 Years

MY LITTLE VOCATION STORY

Sr. Avila Avila, OSP

Wanting to be a sister was always in the making.  Discernment got serious in my senior year of high school at St. CatherineAcademy in Belize, which was run by the Sisters of Mercy.

During that time Sr. Felicia and Sr. Aquinas, both Oblate Sisters of Providence, visited my school.  That was the beginning of my communication with the Oblates.  The next thing I knew, I was writing Mother William, who was then the Superior General.  I left Belize in 1959 and realized then that this is where God wanted me to be.

I served God’s people at quite a few missions, all in the United States.  Here is the list (which is not in alphabetical or chronological order): Christ the King in Orangeburg, SC; St. Teresa in Wilson, NC; Immaculate Conception in Charleston, SC; Holy Name of Mary in Chicago, IL; Diocesan Education Campus in Buffalo, NY; St. Nicholas in Buffalo, NY; Holy Comforter/St. Cyprian in Washington, DC; Holy Redeemer in Miami, FL; St. Gabriel in Mound Bayou, MS; Our Lady of the Divine Shepherd in Trenton, NJ; Bambino Gesu in Philadelphia, PA; St. Mary’s Academy in Norfolk, VA.

On August 15 I will celebrate 50 years as an Oblate Sister of Providence.  I thank God for all the challenges and blessings He has given and continues to give me on my journey.  I am a very happy OSP Nun.

Prayers, Affirmations and Meditations of the week

Prayer the week of Aug 5-Aug 12

Prayer taken from one of Stormie Omartian's praying books. The prayer for the week is asking God to move us into the purpose for which we were created.

Lord, I know Your plan for me existed before I knew You and You will bring it to pass. Help me to "walk worthy of the calling with which [I was] called" (Ephesians 4:1).  I know there is an appointed plan for me, and I have a destiny that will now be fulfilled.  Help me to live my life with a sense of purpose and understanding of the calling You have given me. Take away any discouragement I may feel and replace it with joyful anticipation of what You are going to do through me. Use me as Your instrument to make a positive difference in the lives of those whom You put in my path. Give me a vision for my life. I put identity in You and my destiny in Your hands. Show me if what I am doing now is what I am supposed to be doing. I want what You are building in my live to last for eternity. Amen!

Ephesians 1:11 (New Century Version) " In Christ we were chosen to be God's people, because from the very beginning God had decided this in keeping with His plan. And He is the One who makes everything agree with what He decides and wants. "

Inspiration for the week of July 29- Aug 5

This week's devotional is taken from Wednesday's, July 29, 2009, Daily Worddevotional book. Be blessed.

Divine Order

I am one with God in all I do. I align with divine order today by becoming still. I enter a special time of quiet in which I am only conscious of God's presence. I relax and allow every breath to take me deeper into my experience of God.  My mind is quiet. I listen. In the silence, ideas present themselves. They are ideas that reflect my soul's greatest desires for wisdom, health, abundance, and harmony. My desires come from the wisdom of my soul, and they are mine to claim and to act upon. I affirm divine order throughout the day and know right outcomes will appear at the perfect time, in the perfect way. I put God first and experience being one with the One in all I do.

"The wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits."
James 3:17

Inspiration for week July 22-29

Angie, here is the inspiration for the week of July 22 - 29 that you can post on your website. Wonderful words taken from the Daily Word(Inspiration devotional book). Thanks!

Carolyn

I live in harmony with all Creation.

Keeping my life in balance gives me stability through life's twists and turns. So if I'm feeling down, I do something good for someone else, which naturally lifts my spirits. If I feel a lack of energy, I exercise, which calls forth power from a reservoir within me. I make and keep regular prayer or meditation appointments, ensuring that I have time alone with God each day.
The serenity I experience brings an inner and outer balance to my life. Connected to the good in me, I am in harmony with the good of all Creation.
Centering myself in God, the source of all life, brings life into perspective.

"Agree with God, and be at peace; in this way good will come to you."--Job 22:21

Affirmation for the week of July 15-22

This week's affirmation (July 15 - July 22). Taken from July 15th's  Daily Word (daily inspirational book).

Emerge
I am embracing a new way of life.
I am ready to move beyond any shadow from my past. I don't let who I have been interfere with who I am becoming. I feel the excitement from accepting that I am ready to begin a new way of life.
I start by knowing that God is with me every step of the way. I pray for guidance, I listen for divine ideas, and I act on them with confidence.
I expect good to come to me and through me. I give and receive each blessing with gratitude.
Encouraged by the spirit of God within me, I embrace the possibilities ahead and move into a new way of living.
"And he said to the man who had the withered hand, 'Come forward.' ... 'Stretch out your hand.' He stretched it out, and his hand was restored."--Mark 3:3, 5

Financial Prayer and Affirmation for week of July 8

Get ready for a financial breakthrough! Money is coming! Praise God for divine wisdom and His wonderful blessings! by Ms Carolyn Johnson

Dear God, help us to obey Your Word and truth, which will give us wisdom and will bring about tremendous benefits.  Knowing and receiving Your wisdom will altered and challenged our finances. We know money is a gift from You; and we also know that there are things more important than money, such as, wisdom, character, intelligence and human relationship. Lord, we ask that you protect us from the dangers of money. Help us by earning our money honestly, managing our money wisely and giving our money generously. Make us aware of how we are valuing and handling our money. Help us to value money differently than our culture does. Lord, we pray for increase. Help us not to compromise through dishonesty, greed or a number of wrong attitudes regarding money; but let us remember to seek first Your kingdom and we know we will receive increase in all areas of our life. Help us, Lord, to deal aggressively with paying our creditors and taxes. Help us to tell the truth at any cost. Help us with our character, which is more important than our financial status. Help us to take a hard and good look at our spending habits. Let our spending habits glorify You. Lord, we make You a partner in our finances today. Help us to build financial firewall through wise spending habits. Let us not forget to honor You with our wealth and give to You first, off the top of what we've been given and what we have earned. For we know to give generously and to live generously is to honor You and giving our tithes, 10%, is in obedience to You. Lord, we will continue to obey You and always put You first in every area of our life; and we will trust You that the right time, in the right place, You will bless us in the right way. Thank You, Jesus, and trust us with what You give us. In the Name of Jesus. Amen

My aunt Tomasa Avila aka CHIQUIDA died the morning of the earthquate. She has been ailing, so I don't think shaking had something to do with her death. May my dad's sister rest in eternal peace.

We pray for the repose of the soul of Chiquida.  May her soul and souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.

Belize Prison Ministry

Belize has just one prison.  Its population has doubled in the last few years -- now more than 1,500 men and 30 women.  Several years ago the country handed the prison system over to the Kolbe Foundation to manage, since the prison had such a high recidivism rate (70 percent) and frequent escapes and violence.  It was filled with corruption. The Kolbe Foundation, run by followers of Jesus, partners with Prison Fellowship Belize. Prison Fellowship provides the rehabilitation programs in the prison.  Today the prison is clean, well managed, and the recidivism rate is now only 10 to 13 percent.  Perhaps most exciting, the primary residential rehabilitation program is patterned on the InnerChange Freedom Initiative (IFI) here in the U.S.

Seven years ago, a retired schoolteacher in Iowa , Jeanne Goematt, felt led to go to Belize and minister to prisoners.  She went to the IFI program in Iowa and asked if they would train her to work with inmates and teach her the IFI model.  For several months she did just that.  Then, armed with her training and experience, she went to Belize .

Mother Jeanne, as she is now called by the prisoners in Belize , approached the Kolbe Foundation and said, “You need a rehabilitation program.”

They agreed and asked her to do it.  They gave her the most dilapidated building in the prison, and she went to work.  Now the unit, named the Inner Change for Freedom Belize (IFFB), is the nicest in the prison.  Mother Jeanne is retiring once again to return to the states.  The men were in tears as they said goodbye to Mother Jeanne.  Over and over, they repeated that she had shown them the love of Jesus and taught them the Scriptures.  One man, who had been in and out of prison five times, was so overcome with tears that he could not finish as he shared how through her Jesus had changed his life.  He is out of prison now and helps run the program.  As Mother Jeanne leaves these men to return to Iowa , she leaves the program in the hands of another former inmate trained and discipled by her -- now a laborer in the harvest.

What we saw and heard in Belize is not unlike what we see and hear in the U.S. every day -- men and women who never thought their lives could change until they met a follower of Jesus who loved them, invested time in them, and shared the Good News of Jesus with them.  It is universal.  And when it hits the prison cells of this world, it is very dramatic.  Because of the darkness, the light of Jesus shines ever brighter, and the change He brings in men and women is so sharply visible!

Would you pray for Inner Change for Freedom Belize and the former inmate who has now assumed responsibilities for the program

Prayer for Financial Blessings (5-11)

Submitted by Carolyn Johnson (Thanks very much)

Lord, I come interceding for all that is need of a financial breakthrough immediately, including me. We honor and praise You, Lord, for who we are in You. We are above and not beneath. We are the head and not the tail. We are blessed coming in and blessed going out. We are more than conquerors. We shall lend, give and not borrow. Thank You for the power to get wealth. No weapon formed against us shall prosper from us receiving Your abundance financial blessing. You promised to supply all our needs and we believe it. Lord, we pray that You will open the windows of heaven and pour us an abundance of blessings, whereas, we will not have room enough to receive. Turn our lack into more than enough. We command money to come today. Send a financial breakthrough immediately and right now, we ask according to Your will. Bless us to be good stewards and cheerful givers. Bless us to give towards the expansion of Your kingdom. Bless our giving, whereas, we receive some 30, 60 and/or 100 fold. Rebuke the devourers from attacking our finances. Dissolve all hindrances and obstacles that maybe keeping us from receiving prosperity. Bless our wallets, our bank accounts, our investments. Give us increase, in the Name of Jesus. We are doing, Lord, and believing as You say to do...ask and it shall be giving; seek and we shall find;knock and the doors shall be open. We have faith that You will give; and that we shall find; and the doors will be open. Praises to You, Lord, for all of Your goodness. Praises to You, Lord, for all of Your blessings. Praises to You, Lord, praises to You. We thank You for hearing and answering our prayers. May we be blessed today and tell of your goodness and kindness. May we tell of Your mercy and faithfulness. Grant us favor today, Lord, and we will not be ashamed of giving You thanks and praises. Glory to Your Name and all praises belong to You. We ask in Your Name that this is Your will and that it is already done. Hallelujah! Amen!

Prayer for the Unemployed and the difficult time

Submitted by Carolyn Johnson (Thanks very much) Lord, I come interceding for those who are unemployed, having financial difficulties and battling with health issues. I know, according to 2 Corinthians 4, these times are only for a moment and we are experiencing only light affliction. According to Ecclesiates 3, there is a right time for everything and everything is appropriate in its own time. Strengthen our faith as we go through these times, believing that You will work everything out for our good, if we don't give up. Dissolve every hindrances and obstacles that may be stopping every door from opening for our job to come through, for our finances to come through, for our healing to come through, for our blessing to come through, in the Name of Jesus. May no weapon formed against us prosper and may You rebuke every devourer that comes against us from receiving the blessings from the windows of heaven. Lord, we will walk by faith and not by sight, believing that You are willing and able to do exceedingly, abundantly and above all that we ask, imagine or think. Thank You, Lord, for that job right now that You are sending our way. Thank You right now for that financial increase that You have established for us right now. Thank You for that healing that You declared on the cross, with Your blood and stripes we are healed. Victory is our today and we praise You for supplying all of our needs; for giving us the desires of our heart; for sending Your Word and snatching us from the door of joblessness, from proverty, from foreclosure, from loneliness, from anxiety, from fear and from death. Thank You that Your Words go forth and do not return void. Thank You for peace, comfort and assurance, knowing that You hear our prayers and always answer, according to Your Will and divine timing. In the Name of Jesus, I pray for favor and blessing upon all who pray the prayer of faith. Glory to Your Name . Amen!

Pray for the Deceased (New)

We like to say a prayer for the repose of the soul of Mr Robert Garcia.  We also pray for his family that God will comfort them during this time of loss.  God let them know that his time here on earth was well spent.  He is home with his maker.  May the soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace Amen.

Prayer for Members of the Military

Eternal and Everlasting God through the merits of your son Jesus, we make supplication to you for our sons and daughters who are in the military.  Lord we ask you to protect them and their families from all hurt, harm or danger.  We ask that you would provide for their every need.  Father when they are lonely please provide a friend.  When they are sad please give them joy.  When they are weary give them strength.  I declare the joy of the Lord is their strength.  Comfort them  with your word that says that that you will never leave them or forsake them and that you have carved their names in the palm of your hands.  We thank you that you are compassionate towards them and that your loving kindness is with them always even to the end of the age.  Father, I rebuke discouragement and speak life to their spirit as they respond to your call in the trenches of their lives in the name of Jesus.  Father your will is that none be lost, so I plea the blood of Jesus over them all and pray that all will be saved Amen.

Father God we give special intentions for the following soldiers

Bishop OP Martin Celebrates 50 Years

Bishop OP Martin Celebrates 50 years

Bishop OP Martin's 50th Year in the Church
posted (April 9, 2009)

While for many, the Easter holiday may be about the long holiday, really it’s a deeply spiritual observance, marking Christ’s death and resurrection. And for Belize’s first home-grown Bishop, the Right Reverend OP Martin, now in the autumn of his years, this Easter is a time for particular celebration, because he’s celebrating his golden jubilee, his 50th year as a priest. I visited him in Dangriga where the 78 year old took a wistful look back at his youth, and also discussed the modern challenges confronting the Church.

Jacqueline Godwin Reporting,
On April fourth, 1959 Osmond Peter Martin was ordained a priest. Today fifty years later, at the age of seventy eight he gets around with the help of a walker, due to a severe spinal injury. Now the former Bishop of Belize spends most of his time at his family’s home in Dangriga.

The Most Reverend Osmond Peter Martin is the eldest brother of three sisters and the son of Justin and Cleofa Martin. As a young boy he was a member of the Holy Redeemer Scouts Group and noted as an avid athlete, even playing on the SJC soccer team. And this a strapping young man you see here at the age of twenty three was already studying to be a priest. He would later become the first Belizean priest to be ordained a bishop in 1982. But the Most Reverend Martin says it all started in high school when he was just 18 and received his first calling to the priesthood.

Most Rev. Osmond P. Martin, Former Bishop of Belize
“It is just through the inspiration of God, that is the reason why they call vocation a calling. It is through God’s inspiration that I made that very difficult decision.”

A difficult decision, but one he doesn’t regret because it produced the highlight of his career.

Most Rev. Osmond P. Martin,
“I would say it is my involvement with education, my involvement with attracting lay people to their vocation in the church either as teachers, as in their own profession, but it is living the lay life in a way that is service oriented.”

The Most Reverend Martin retired at the age of seventy five but it is a severe back injury that has caused the former Bishop to not be as active as he would like to.

Most Rev. Osmond P. Martin,
“It is my spinal back condition. I have had two major operations on my back and it has really restricted my going around and be active. But still I am thankful that I can do my own driving and move around. The physical problem is standing.”

Jacqueline Godwin,
Standing for long periods of time?

Most Rev. Osmond P. Martin,
“Standing for even short periods of time.”

What has also declined in Belize is an interest to religious life and the vocation to priesthood. This elder of the church weighed in on what he thinks is happening.

Most Rev. Osmond P. Martin,
“To me it is a major change in society. Society is much more materialistic, society is much more taken up with wealth, with money, and what money can buy. It is materialism. That is the major cause of decline in aspiring for the priesthood and religious life.”

Yesterday the former Bishop of Belize celebrated his fiftieth anniversary in the priesthood.

Most Rev. Osmond P. Martin,
“The best advice I can give Belizeans is to stay away from some of the crippling activities I see in our country and it is kind of unavoidable. For example drugs, people are crazy about drugs because there is money in there. That’s one. Another thing is that the lack of self control in people’s lives.

Everyday we’re burying people, everywhere. In other words they see that there is a finality about life. We see that. We are burying people right left and center. So it isn’t that they think they will live forever, they have to face that finality, that life here on earth will come to an end.”

While the former bishop says it is unrealistic to speak about his own finality what matters is that the final destiny in life is eternal union with God.

Most Rev. Osmond P. Martin,
“And we have to pass through the portals of death before we enter into union with God. That will come, that’s for sure. As to when, nobody knows that. When and how, nobody knows that.

I am satisfied with the way I have responded to the call of God. There is difficulty involved in it because you see all these material things around you and you want to be involved in material things but I feel as though that I am blest in the sense that I have values that are still admired by people and that has guided me in my life.”

Jacqueline Godwin reporting for 7News.

In celebration of his 50th anniversary in the priesthood, a special luncheon was held for the former Bishop yesterday and a special mass was held this morning.
